Military Law
The legal rights and responsibilities of men and women
enlisted in the United States armed services is set out in the Uniform
Code of Military Justice and other federal statues. The rights of a
soldier accused of a violation of military law differ greatly from the
rights of a civilian accused of a crime in a state or federal court.
Although, in many instances, soldiers may be entitled to the assistance
of a court-appointed attorney, soldiers often seek representation by
civilian attorneys. With offices in St. Robert, Missouri, near the army's
base in Fort Leonard Wood, the attorneys at Smith & Turley provide
counseling and representation of soldiers in court martials and other
important matters affecting their military careers. For more information
