Bankruptcy (Creditor's Rights)
When a debtor files a petition for bankruptcy, creditors
are usually notified. Under federal law, creditors are prohibited from
ordinary debt collection practices and must protect their rights in
the bankruptcy court. Usually, the bankruptcy court schedules a meeting
that the creditors or their representatives must attend to protect their
rights.
Smith & Turley represents banks and other lending
institutions in bankruptcy proceedings. The firm's attorneys are licensed
